Solid Walls Provide Protection Against Noise,
Weather Extremes & Termites

The family home is a major part of our lives and, of course, our budgets. Over the years, homes evolve undergoing extensions and renovations to meet the demands of changing family dynamics and the inclusion of additional generations.

The substantial construction of a full brick home – the gold standard in housing – provides a solid basis for future alterations and additions thanks to its legendary durability.

Ted and Tulin Bragg were familiar with the full brick advantages, already living in a full brick home when they brought an old fibro house with the intention of replacing it with a two-storey, four bedroom home.

Touring open houses and display homes reinforced their decision to build in full brick. “It was interesting to see people knocking on the walls and asking if the home was full brick. Obviously we are not the only ones that know about the benefits of full brick,” explained Ted.

After building in full brick, the Bragg family are sold on the benefits of a full brick home more than ever before.

The home was designed to separate the children’s areas – Esma, 11, and Davud, 7 – from the parent’s areas. “Not as easily damaged as plasterboard, the solid brick walls give better thermal and sound insulation,” said Tulin.

Ted agrees, adding that the use of Austral Bricks Colourbrick externally has greatly reduced maintenance time, “It gives the rendered look with a permanent colour, eliminating repainting.”

Like so many full brick customers, the Bragg family have installed ducted heating/cooling but rarely use it. Thanks to the incorporation of passive design principles with full brick construction.

The Braggs love the feeling of performance and security their full brick home provides them. “We believe our full brick home will age much better than other forms of construction. And if we ever decide to sell, it will command a premium price,” concluded Ted.
